In the old days, internet was hard to come by in Tioman. Each village had just one single cybercafe, dial-up naturally, and since the only connection to the mainland was by satellite, download speeds were mind-numbing and upload speeds were positively glacial.
Some Tioman resorts offer free Wi-Fi areas
The larger resorts fared slightly better, but charged an arm and a leg for the privilege of using their connection and hardware, probably because Internet ISP's still ruled supreme back then. But high charges or not, even simply browsing the net was painfully slow.

What a difference a few years make! Most, if not all Tioman hotels, offer Wi-Fi now, and speeds pretty much everywhere are very respectable, more than enough to regularly keep in touch with family and friends back home through blog, Twitter or Facebook. Even uploading your pix to Flickr, and the like, is now a piece of cake.
Some resorts in Tioman offer Wi-Fi only, assuming visitors will bring their own device, be it laptop, smartphone or tablet. Other resorts also provide a kind of business-center or some sort of "Internet Corner", usually comprising one or more connected pc's near the reception area.
In most cases here in Tioman, Internet and the use of the reception computers is free. This certainly applies to all resorts in below list that are verified by us.
