Most idyllic paradise islands don't offer runners too much in the way of running tracks. But as you'll see below, Pulau Tioman is the exception that proves the rule.
Pretty solid running track in Tekek
In fact, Tioman offers 2 specific runs, a longish one, at over 20 kilometers and a shorter one, which is about half the distance. Perhaps not quite as scenic and certainly flatter, the shorter run does, however, offer different kinds of terrain, including sand, making it almost as challenging as the longer run.

10 km
Start from ABC (Air Batang Chalet). Run up the steps and make for the Tekek main road. Keep running on this road until you come to the steep road up to Kampong Juara on the opposite end of the island.
From here, run along the beach back to ABC. The distance to run is the same distance as the route that got you there, but this way, you get to run on the sand. Once you reach the stairs back to ABC, run back onto the main road and take the steps. Then return to the beach to finish your run on the sand.
Way to go! Running on sand is a great way to improve your running endurance.
20 km
Start your run at ABC and head down towards the next village, Tekek, further south.
After reaching the top of the steps, keep running towards Tekek until you reach a sign that says "Masjid Jamek". Turn into the jungle trail here. This perfect running track leads through pretty thick jungle, but the terrain is quite stunning, not to mention challenging to run, because the slope up is pretty steep. However, once you near the peak, the incline eases.
The run downhill is easier on the legs. After 7 kilometers, the trail morphs abruptly into a road to Juara Beach. To run back to ABC, you can run along the same jungle trail or take the road built between Juara and Tekek. Once you're in Tekek, you can leg it back to your starting point.
Well done - you've just run 20 clicks.
