For all Muslim brothers and sisters who may be concerned that there isn't a mosque in Tioman, rest assured because, in fact, Tioman offers three mosques, pretty much evenly distributed throughout the island.

1. There's the "Masjid Jamek" in Kampung Tekek, which is on the northwest coast of Tioman. Once you make your way off the Tekek Jetty, just head left and keep walking till you pass the end of the Tekek airport runway. You should be able to see the mosque sign. From here, the mosque is only another 500 meters away.

2. Kampung Juara, on Tioman's the east coast, offers "Masjid Juara". The only way to get to Juara from Tekek is by 4x4, which you can hail from the jetty area in Tekek. Just tell the driver you wish to go to the Juara Mosque. You can, of course, walk to Juara too, but it's quite a distance and the road is fairly steep, not recommended for the faint-of-heart, particularly during the hot hours of the day.

3. The third mosque can be found further to the south of the island, in the west coast village called Genting. This mosque is appropriately named "Masjid Kampung Genting". To get here from Tekek, you'll need to take a boat taxi, about a 20 minute ride.
