Tanjung Gemok is an alternative ferry terminal from where you can get on a ferry to Tioman. Tanjung Gemok is located near Rompin, about 20-30 minutes north of Mersing.



Some travelers prefer departing to Tioman from here, because there are fewer tidal issues of the kind that at times plague Mersing. The downsides of Tanjung Gemok however, is that it's a longer drive than Mersing, more remote, and not quite as accessible by public transport as Mersing.

Driving to Tanjung Gemok

If you are driving from KL, instead of exiting the North-South Expressway at Ayer Hitam and following the Kluang route, exit Seremban instead, then follow Kuala Pilah, Muadzam Shah and then drive along the coastal road.

If you're driving from Singapore, just keep going towards Mersing until you see Tanjung Gemok. The drive from Singapore to Tanjung Gemok is generally slightly longer than to Mersing. But the upside is that the ferry crossing from Tanjung Gemok to Tioman can be a little shorter in duration, although the difference isn't that big.

Easy ticket collection

Upon completing your online transaction, your tickets will be awaiting collection at the ferry terminal, i.e. at our Bluewater ferry ticketing counter. All you need to do here is show your booking details and ID, after which you'll receive your ferry boarding pass(ess).

NOTE: Please ensure a timely arrival at Mersing Harbour Centre, as the ferry ticket collection counter closes 30 minutes before ferry departure time.

Upon completing your online transaction, your tickets will be awaiting collection at our ferry departure gate counter in Tanjung Gemuk. All you need to do here is show your printed payment transaction receipt, after which you can proceed to the ferry.

Please note that ferry vessels fill up progresssively and chronologically, which means that ferry times selected by passengers are subject to first come first served. As such, we highly recommend submitting your preferred ferry times as soon as the ferry schedule has been published.
