A combination of a beautiful place and basic but very decent rooms. Your friendly Swiss Cottage hosts, Richard and Stella, will make your stay here a delight. And the interesting and eclectic set of fellow travelers staying at the Swiss Cottage resort will be great value also.
If you like to sleep to the gentle lapping of the waves on the beach, take the Swiss Cottage Beach Chalet. You'll never sleep deeper. Breakfast is simple but varied and always tasty and fresh.
If you're into active get-aways, there's a boat available for charter cruises and the dive on-site shop will see you right if you're keen for a scuba dive. If you're not a diver, no problem, because the Swiss Cottage house reef is perfect to go snorkeling too. You can also rent a kayak at this stretch of beach.
Or if all this seems like it's a little too much effort, you can simply laze on your Swiss Cottage verandah with a book and a tall drink. And you'll love the sun-dappled coconut tree-peppered beach just opposite the Swiss Cottage chalets. In fact, some say this is the finest stretch of beach of all of Tioman.
The Swiss Cottage atmosphere is relaxed and very low-key. If you're a city-dweller looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every-day life, then this hidden little gem, Swiss Cottage in Tioman, is nothing short of therapy.
Overall, Swiss Cottage is excellent value for money.
Stayed a night at Swiss Cottage, FKA "Samudra", after ferrying in from Mersing a few weeks ago. The mood at this lovely little resort is relaxed and the location serene. Our chalet was not so much a stone throw as a stone flick away from the sun-kissed white sandy beach, turquoise water lapping and all - breathtaking.
Whilst the waterline is great for wading or lazing in the sun, there are enough coconut trees peppered around the grounds to create shaded areas too, great for a breezy picnic at the beach.
A comfy chair for lounging by the beach
The chalet interior is clean and well maintained. And everything works, the hot-water shower, air-con, kettle, as well as the Wi-fi connection. The resort offers meals, home-cooked and tasty, as well as free coffee and tea. But there are quite a few Malay family-run eateries nearby if you like venturing out a bit for your F&B.
Speaking of venturing out, if you're into visiting reefs, corals and other marine life, then you're in luck, because there's a snorkel/scuba outfit right next door from Swiss Cottage.
